Weight Loss Motivation
It is sometimes frustrating to
hear that people just simply can’t lose weight and then you
learn that they consume a month’s worth of calories in a day.
Many dieters fall into a web of negativity yet they aren’t
giving themselves any chance of success. The main reason for
dieters to fall of the wagon? Lack of results. If you don’t see
results quickly, you will inevitably lose interest. It’s just
the way we are, we want the best things, the latest things and
we want them yesterday. That is a mindset that needs to be
erased if you are to stick your regime.
Weight loss is more about creating healthy
habits than anything else but before you create your healthy
habits you must let go of unrealistic targets and introduce
realistic ones. For the quickest and most effective results
you must be extremely disciplined and patient as well as
motivated and this is where most people come unstuck. Losing
weight is not easy, you can try the latest diet craze or
constantly deprive yourself of your favourite foods but more
often than not you will end up back at square one and this
is the most frustrating thing of all. If you feel deprived
of something, you are never going to feel comfortable and
content with your lifestyle. Losing weight needs to be a
more exciting and positive experience, which is defiantly
achievable. Weight loss is easily achievable and sustainable
by making smaller dietary changes, for example limiting
yourself to one dessert per week instead of one a day or
salad instead of chips. This way you still get your fix of
the things you like whilst maintaining a plan, they will
even taste better as you look forward to them. Incorporate
exercise into your life if you don’t already, it will be an
immense benefit. You don’t even need to leave your house,
get an exercise bike and use it in front of the tele, do
something to get that heart racing.
People who succeed in losing weight and
successfully maintain their desired size very often have
support from groups and attend weekly or monthly meetings as
an incentive to do well. This is well worth pursuing not
just for the incentive it will provide but also the wealth
of hints and tips you will pick up from fellow
members.
Fast weight loss programs will often see
you starved of all the foods you need for months at a time.
They may succeed in reducing you to the size you desire, but
the journey will not be a fun one, they also are not
sustainable and you will probably regain the weight as
quickly as you lose it. This article suggests a structured,
realistic plan which doesn`t completely deprive you of the
foods you enjoy. Instead, these foods should be
significantly reduced and replaced by foods which can be
eaten freely. For some, phasing out these luxury foods is
difficult but it is important to remember they are not
barred, simply reduced. If you find it too hard to reduce
these foods then there are people who can help, for example
many struggling dieters turn to a psychiatrist who can
eliminate the cravings for your bogey
foods.
